Youtube, regarded as a community that people use to view other people’s video or upload their own videos, is one of the popular platforms of social media website which individuals visit quit often daily.With the access to the internet, anyone can browse or choose which video to be seen easily, regardless of sex and age. Because of the easiness, children or someone who does not have critical thinking skills are risky to receive some false notions or intimate inappropriate contents. YouTube is, therefore, necessary to be censored some of its improper contents: naked or sexual videos, violence use videos and rude words contained in videos.

First of all, YouTube should ban videos that contains people’s naked body or videos that arouse horniness. As we know that children are unable to aware that which videos have appropriate contents or not, they are likely to imitate those actions seen in the Youtube. Moreover, having seen such videos, it can also contribute to the sexual harassment. Accordingly, YouTube should highly restrict sexual-arousing contents to avoid children’s imitation.

Second, violence use is another form of videos that is most frequently seen in YouTube, encouraging not only children but also normal people to feel that using violence is broadly accepted in the society and make they feel that using violence is not a serious act. Hence, anyone who has this false notion might do harm to others people without realization of the morals which might cause trouble to others. YouTube is, thereby, required to censor videos that include violence use.

Last but not least, rude words are shown vividly in some YouTube channels. Some channels have many subscribers which include the subscription mostly by the children or the youth. Aggressive words shown in the videos instills children to recognize that rude words can be used generally in daily life and with anyone regardless of who they are. This can prompt unethical community because the communication with each other all contains bad word use. But, YouTube can’t resolve all there problems because YouTube has a lot of videos, so it is impossible to resolve in a short time. However, YouTube faced the possibility of being blocked in some other countries. Since I was young, I’ve heard about YouTube censorship from other people. While YouTube is cooperating with Government, they remove violence, sexual and copyright videos to prevent and reduce people from watching and publishing videos that is against YouTube’s policy.

In 2006, the Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers, and Publishers had succeeded in withdrawing from the Digital Millennium Copyright Art lawsuit. There were more than 30,000 pieces of content being cancel from impeachment. Soon after, Comedy Central complained of copyright infringement. Therefore the content is removed from the platform of YouTube, causing many countries to put pressure on YouTube about this and want YouTube to be able to monitor data effectively before publishing information on the internet.

After Youtube faced many problems, they changed the policy to make it better, so they instituting three strike rules for community guidelines violations. YouTube forgives the offender for the first time. If doing again, YouTube will suspend user. And will sue for copyright infringement. In doing so, YouTube has acted as an official judge regarding suitability.

In the past few years, YouTube has faced many criticisms because of many the excessive content of violence that cannot be effectively resolved. On the other side, YouTube uses a lot of money to remove violent content. In 2016, the company added automated systems to the screening program and they announced plans to embed violent content. After many incidents of damage are solved YouTube’s influence has been more proactive. After the deaths of many children who participated in the “Tide Pod Challenge”, YouTube stated that it was trying to remove the videos of people eating the laundry pods. After shooting at a serious school in Parkland, Florida, and YouTube has banned the gun sample videos and content that promotes gun sales.

Today, companies like YouTube face difficult challenges. They are under pressure from various governments to remove various content and any decisions they make with censorship will lead to further censorship without a doubt. But this is something that leaders have failed and why technology, which is a company effort to play neutral, has been accepted by YouTube, whether it is the policy makers and management of companies that like it or not. So what are the decisions that reflect the value and value of those who decide and enforce policies for those things? Remains to be seen.
